William Root House

William Root House offers a distinctive historic setting for weddings, receptions, family celebrations, club gatherings and business events in downtown Marietta. The restored 19th-century house and its gardens provide indoor and outdoor options, with spaces suited to intimate occasions as well as larger gatherings of up to 150 guests.

Organisers can choose a small outdoor event with access to indoor space for serving and as a weather back-up, a larger event using the gardens and indoor areas, or an indoor gathering for up to 20 people. The venue is available for daytime and evening bookings, with minimum hire periods that include set-up and clear-up time. Weddings are specifically welcomed, alongside meetings, luncheons, dinners and other private functions.

The rental includes guest access to the museum, a kitchenette, toilets, power and waste bins. Tables and chairs can be hired for an additional charge. Organisers should plan to arrange their own caterer, servers, bar staff, music or sound system, tableware, linen and decorative details, as these are not included as standard. If a private booking takes place during normal museum opening hours and the organiser wants the museum closed to the public, an additional fee applies.
