StepQuests

StepQuests creates self-guided walking tours for smartphones: a city game with GPS, a story and a quiz question at every stop. No guide is needed, there is no fixed start time and there is no minimum number of participants. This means a StepQuest fits easily into a team outing, an afternoon with a department or a programme around a meeting, lunch or dinner in the city.

Here’s how it works for teams: divide the group into small teams of a few colleagues. Each team uses its own code (€14.99 per group, one code per group) and follows the route with one phone. The app guides you from stop to stop, tells the story at each place and asks the quiz questions. Teams can set off at the same time or start at staggered times, whenever it suits the programme. Afterwards, there’ll be plenty to talk about over drinks.

Popular with groups:

StepQuests has 143 tours in more than 70 cities. All tours are available in Dutch and English, and some are also available in German, French and Spanish, handy for international teams. Food, drinks and admission are not included. All you need is a smartphone with internet access. StepQuests is based in Haarlem. You can find more information and codes on the StepQuests website.
