Duns Volunteer Hall

Duns Volunteer Hall is a community venue in the Scottish Borders, available to hire for private celebrations, weddings, meetings, workshops, performances and other local events. The hall is owned and managed by A Heart for Duns, a development trust supporting the Duns and District community. Organisers can book an individual room or hire the Main Hall for a larger gathering, with spaces also available for one-off occasions and regular sessions.

The Main Hall measures 30m by 12m and can accommodate up to 250 people. Its facilities include a stage, projector, sound system, lighting rig, Wi-Fi and a sprung dance floor. The room can suit everything from a meeting or rehearsal to a performance, children’s party or wedding reception. A licensed bar is available, and hirers can request use of the equipped catering kitchen. Tables, chairs, linen and other options can be arranged for an additional charge. Bespoke wedding packages are available for couples planning their day.

For smaller gatherings, the Hope Room seats up to 10 and has a screen and teleconferencing facilities, making it useful for meetings and workshops. The Hay Hut accommodates up to 20 and can serve as a breakout room, secondary performance space or backstage room. There is also a small meeting room for private meetings and consultations. The Main Hall is wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking and toilet facilities.

The venue is a short walk from Duns town centre and is served by local bus routes. Hiring the hall also supports the work of A Heart for Duns in the surrounding community. Organisers can enquire about availability and submit a booking form to discuss their requirements.
