Highland Lake Cove

Highland Lake Cove is a lakeside venue in Flat Rock, North Carolina, for organisers planning weddings, retreats, workshops, meetings and private gatherings. Its grounds bring together gardens, mature trees, water views and a choice of indoor and outdoor spaces, giving groups options for both structured programmes and relaxed time together.

The Garden Pavilion can seat up to 200 guests and has an elevated stage, making it suitable for larger celebrations and gatherings. Other outdoor settings include a lawn shaded by old oak trees, a terraced lakeside amphitheatre for ceremonies, a garden courtyard for dining and a deck overlooking the lake for more intimate occasions. The spaces can be considered for wedding ceremonies and receptions, rehearsal dinners, family reunions and private events.

For meetings and retreats, the property also offers The Sanctuary, a timber-framed building with room for gatherings of up to 75. Its shared dining area seats up to 60, and the adjoining Retreat House provides private rooms for groups needing both communal space and overnight accommodation. A separate lakeside room accommodates up to 30 and can be used for meetings, yoga retreats and workshops. Cabins and glamping options are also available for guests seeking a stay on the property.

Food and beverage arrangements can be discussed as part of an event enquiry, with dining connected to the garden and the venue's café. Organisers can contact the team to share their date, preferred spaces, food needs and other plans, then request a proposal. The mix of indoor rooms, outdoor locations and on-site accommodation gives event planners several ways to shape a gathering around their group and programme.
