Northfield Estate

Northfield Estate is a countryside wedding venue in Cumberland, Virginia, where couples can bring their own ideas and chosen suppliers to shape their celebration. Set across nearly 50 acres of rolling grounds, the property combines historic character, garden and terrace settings, and indoor and outdoor spaces for different parts of the day.

Ceremonies can take place beneath a mature oak, on the lower terrace or inside the estate ballroom. The ballroom also offers a rain-plan option and can host smaller gatherings, including seated receptions of up to 60 guests. For larger celebrations, a 5,900-square-foot sailcloth tent is available from April to November, with outdoor reception capacity of up to 200. The terraces and grounds provide additional options for a drinks reception, photographs and time with guests.

The venue’s getting-ready facilities include a bridal suite in the estate house and a separate groom’s cottage. Venue hire includes exclusive use of the event spaces, tables and chairs, and set-up and breakdown of the venue’s own furniture. Parking and guest bathrooms are also available. Couples can select their own licensed and insured caterer and other vendors, while a professional wedding planner is required. Catering is arranged directly with the chosen provider, rather than supplied as part of Northfield Estate’s venue service.
