Charter Hall

Charter Hall is a multi-purpose event venue in Colchester, available to hire for a broad range of occasions. Organisers can consider it for conferences, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, sporting events, corporate functions, weddings and private parties. Its adaptable rooms can be arranged for different event formats, from smaller gatherings to larger occasions, and the two main spaces can be combined to provide seating for up to 700 guests.

The venue is also an established setting for public entertainment, with a programme that includes live music, comedy, family shows, sport and special events. This makes it suitable for organisers looking for a substantial indoor space with a stage and the flexibility to host audiences in seated or event-specific layouts. Audiovisual equipment is available, and technical support can be discussed as part of event planning.

For weddings and other celebrations, Charter Hall offers a large-scale option with room for guests, tables and chairs, and access to stage and dressing-room areas. Wedding arrangements can include support from the events team and security. The venue does not have an in-house kitchen, so organisers planning food should make arrangements with an external caterer and check the venue’s requirements in advance.

Located at Leisure World, Charter Hall has on-site parking, including accessible spaces, and is reachable by bus and from Colchester’s railway stations. Its combination of flexible room layouts, event facilities and central location makes it a practical venue to explore for organisers planning a public show, business gathering or personal celebration.
