Il Mercato

Il Mercato is a private event venue in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District, offering a distinctive setting for weddings, corporate functions and social celebrations. Set in a historic building with Spanish-style architectural details, it combines an elegant indoor ballroom with an enclosed courtyard and an intimate library, giving organisers several spaces to shape around their occasion.

The Main Room, known as La Sala, has an open layout suited to seated dinners, cocktail receptions and dancing. Outside, the secluded courtyard provides room for ceremonies, drinks receptions and dining beneath the open sky, with greenery and an outdoor fireplace adding character to the setting. The Library offers a quieter, more intimate space that can be used for photographs, a lounge area or another part of the event programme.

The venue welcomes both wedding and corporate bookings, as well as special occasions such as galas and debutante balls. Its team works with organisers and planners on the event layout and details, while an exclusive catering partner provides menus prepared for the occasion. Venue furnishings and linens are available to help establish the look and flow of the gathering.

With indoor and outdoor areas that can be used in different combinations, Il Mercato can accommodate ceremonies, dinners and larger standing receptions. Its Magazine Street location, close to the French Quarter and surrounded by the character of the Garden District, offers guests a distinctly New Orleans backdrop while keeping the event within a private, dedicated venue.
