Carousel House

Carousel House is a waterfront event venue in Santa Barbara, set beside Chase Palm Park. The former carousel building has been adapted into a light-filled, open-plan space with a greenhouse-like character and an industrial touch. Its flexible layout gives organisers room to shape the setting around their event, whether they are planning a wedding reception, a celebration or another private gathering. The venue lists a capacity of up to 180 guests.

A reservation also includes use of the adjacent Chase Palm Park Plaza lawn, providing an outdoor area for a ceremony or time with guests. The combination of indoor and outdoor space lets organisers plan different parts of the occasion across both settings. The venue is near the waterfront, with paid parking available in nearby Garden Street and Palm Park lots.

Carousel House is offered as a blank canvas rather than a furnished, styled package. Organisers can bring in their preferred catering and entertainment suppliers, and can arrange furniture and décor to suit their plans. The venue permits food trucks and outdoor grilling, and alcohol service is allowed in the building and plaza. Power outlets are available indoors and outdoors for event equipment, while amplified music is permitted until 10 pm. Layout-planning software is available to help with the arrangement of the space.

Bookings are available on weekdays and at weekends, with the reservation period including set-up and pack-down. Weekend bookings use a ten-hour package, with extra time available subject to the stated limit. An event monitor and cleaning are included in weekend reservations. The City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department handles availability and applications.
