HCISD Performing Arts Center

HCISD Performing Arts Center is a Harlingen venue for performances and community events, with facilities that can also be requested by outside organisers. Its main auditorium seats up to 956 guests and includes a 4,800-square-foot stage, making it suitable for concerts, theatre productions, recitals, competitions and other staged programmes. The centre’s theatrical rigging and stage systems support scenery, curtains, lighting and props, while its acoustic design is suited to live performance and recording.

The venue also has several supporting spaces. Two multipurpose rooms, known as the Gold and Blue Rooms, each offer around 2,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 170 people on risers. They have projection facilities, screens, audio and television feeds from the stage. A smaller room of approximately 1,000 square feet is available for meetings or a VIP gathering before an event, with mobile projection equipment.

Performers and production teams can make use of dressing rooms with electrical facilities, communications equipment and stage monitoring. Other practical features include a lobby for guest information or light refreshments, a concession area and a loading bay with direct access to the stage. These facilities help organisers plan both the audience experience and backstage requirements in one location.

Event dates can be requested through the centre’s reservation process. Organisers should check the calendar and submit requests in advance, as submitting a request does not itself confirm a booking. The venue is overseen by the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District and also serves student arts programmes, local competitions and community events.
