Savannah Rapids Pavilion

Set above the Augusta Canal and Savannah River in Savannah Rapids Park, Savannah Rapids Pavilion is a county-run venue for weddings, receptions, family celebrations and business events. Its indoor rooms range from small meeting spaces for a dozen guests to larger halls designed for banquets, exhibitions and gatherings of up to 750 people. Movable partitions let organisers adapt some areas to different layouts and event sizes.

The venue’s larger rooms include the Rapids Room, with deck access and a built-in dance floor, and the Grand Rapids Ballroom, formed by combining several spaces. Smaller rooms suit interviews, meetings, training sessions and breakout groups. Some rooms have access to kitchens, while the venue allows organisers to choose their own caterer. Tables and chairs are included with indoor room hire.

The setting is a strong feature: elevated views, surrounding woodland, historic canal landmarks and outdoor terraces provide a distinctive backdrop for photographs and guest gatherings. Nearby historic open-air spaces in the park include a dance pavilion and screened dining hall, suitable for more casual celebrations.

Please note that Columbia County says reservations for Savannah Rapids Pavilion are not being accepted while renovation work is underway. Construction is estimated to finish in summer 2027, so organisers should check directly with the county for the latest availability before making plans.
