Armory Square Event Center

Armory Square Event Center is a historic Northfield venue offering flexible spaces for weddings, business gatherings, parties, reunions and musical events. Located in a former 1915 National Guard armory in downtown Northfield, the venue combines characterful architecture with practical facilities for organisers planning both private and corporate occasions.

The main event space can accommodate more than 300 guests and offers flexible layouts for round tables, rectangular tables and high cocktail tables. Its natural light, rustic details and tall ceiling create a distinctive setting for receptions, dinners, celebrations and larger gatherings. The venue also includes the Low Down, a more relaxed lower-level space for meetings, smaller parties and groups of around 80 guests, depending on the arrangement.

For smaller, more intimate occasions, the AWOL Lounge provides a unique tiki bar setting with seating for approximately 20 to 25 people. The adjacent enclosed backyard adds an outdoor option for ceremonies, parties and seasonal events. Couples can use the venue for both their wedding ceremony and reception, with dedicated wedding information and planning support available.

Event organisers can make use of a licensed commercial kitchen and choose from recommended catering partners or arrange their own caterer. Outside desserts and snacks are also permitted, while the venue operates a fully stocked bar with a full liquor licence. Its spaces can be adapted for business meetings, private celebrations, live music and community events, making it a versatile choice for gatherings in southern Minnesota.
