Mellwood Art Center

Mellwood Art Center is a distinctive Louisville event venue located in a converted industrial complex near downtown. Its collection of five rentable spaces gives event organisers a broad choice of settings for weddings, banquets, receptions, parties, corporate gatherings, exhibitions and other large-scale occasions.

The Da Vinci Room is the largest of the spaces, offering 19,000 square feet and capacity for up to 1,000 seated guests or 1,600 standing guests. The room includes a partially covered patio, private kitchen, private restrooms, indoor and outdoor bar areas, a VIP area, bridal and groom suites, a built-in stage, dance floor, storage area and direct drop-off access. Tables and chairs are included with the rental, helping organisers plan large events without sourcing every basic furnishing separately.

Other spaces at Mellwood Art Center include the Van Gogh Ballroom, Picasso Room, Monet Room and Pigment Gallery. These rooms cover smaller receptions through to substantial corporate or private events, with capacities ranging from intimate gatherings to several hundred guests. The venue has an open-vendor policy, allowing organisers to choose their own caterer and other event suppliers. Clients may also bring their own alcohol subject to the venue’s requirements.
