At the Barn MatSu

At The Barn MatSu is a private barn venue for weddings, celebrations and selected business or community events in the Matanuska Valley, between Wasilla and Palmer, Alaska. Set on a spacious 60-acre property, the venue combines a warm timber-frame interior with open fields, mountain views and an outdoor ceremony area.

The heated 3,000-square-foot barn can accommodate up to 150 guests and is suitable for ceremonies, receptions, birthday parties, private gatherings, retreats, seminars and business meetings. The open great room provides space for dining, dancing and flexible event layouts, while the property can be booked exclusively so organisers and their guests have privacy on the event date.

Venue facilities include indoor flushing restrooms, an ADA-compliant toilet, a catering and warming kitchen, a bridal lounge, a groomsmen’s loft with private bathroom, tables and chairs in selected packages, a sound system option and ample on-site parking. Vendors can arrive early to prepare, and organisers may use preferred suppliers or bring their own caterer and event team, subject to the venue rules.

At The Barn MatSu offers one-day and two-day rental packages, simplified venue-only options and weekday hourly rentals for smaller events. Wedding packages can include the ceremony location, barn, furniture and sound equipment, while add-ons such as cleaning, table and chair hire and sound system use are available for selected bookings. The family-run venue also offers property tours, layout information and planning guidance to help organisers assess the space before booking.
