Veldeman has worked hard in recent weeks to make a number of Flemish vaccination centers ready for use so that they can test run this week. As a supplier of furnishing and additional infrastructure, Veldeman is abandoning its image as a traditional tent builder.

In Bree, the vacant Expodroom , located on the industrial estate in Bree and once home to Euphony Basket Bree and the European competitions of Noliko Maaseik, was transformed into a fully operational vaccination center. A major logistical challenge. In a few days, Veldeman provided the complete furnishing. With the help of partitions made of plastic, glass and textile, the large areas were divided into entrance area, registration area, waiting area and vaccination area with doctors' cabinets. Veldeman provided heating and supplied all furniture, from tables and chairs to reception desks to serving trolleys. With the 4 vaccination lines, a maximum of 1,200 vaccines per day can be administered to the residents of Bree and Oudsbergen. Flemish Minister of Health Wouter Beke visited the vaccination center in the company of both mayors. "It is great to see how an empty complex was converted into a fully equipped vaccination center in a matter of weeks." said Minister Beke.

Veldeman was also responsible for the design of the vaccination center in Peer, housed in former VDAB buildings. Veldeman took care of the compartmentalization by means of wall construction and provided heating, furniture, decoration and a public address system.

Veldeman provided additional infrastructure such as reception and waiting areas for other vaccination centers, including that of Zottegem.

With these projects, Veldeman is clearly moving away from his image as a classic tent builder. “In recent years we have broadened our offer considerably to meet the market demand for tailor-made total solutions.” explains Andy Moors, CEO of Veldeman. “Tents are still an important part of our portfolio, but we do a lot more. Think of units, wall construction, furnishing, utilities, furniture, air-conditioning, lighting, decoration… Projects such as the vaccination centers, where we do not even place tents, are no longer an exception for us. Our extensive expertise with temporary and modular infrastructure, logistics know-how and strong project organization is increasingly being called upon, without the need for tents. Thanks to our in-house technical department and finishing department, we can deliver perfect customization. ”
