VBDCK Brewery
Guided tour with tasting in the VBDCK Brewery
VBDCK Brewery|
28 August 2020

First founded in 1867 and resurrected in 2015. VBDCK is a recent brewery in Tielrode, a part of Temse. VBDCK can already start with a special anecdote: together with scientists from Ghent University, they succeeded in bringing the old yeast from two forgotten bottles of KEREL beer from Verbeeck-Back (the former brewery) back to life. A beer tastes so much better if you know where it comes from today. Therefore, pay a visit to VBDCK Brewery, the anything but traditional brewery of the De Cock family. Discover what goes on behind closed doors during a fascinating tour and end with, yes, a delicious tasting. You will receive expert explanations from master brewers and go home with a lot of knowledge and memories. Plaice! At VBDCK you can go for eight different KEREL beers that everyone can find to their liking. From Bière de Garde, a complex, malty beer with a caramel touch to Kaishaku, a beer with an alcohol percentage of 15% enriched with a Japanese yeast, and Pink Imperial, a beer with a deep pink color and velvety raspberry flavor. So there is something for everyone. And because the eye also wants something, the design of the bottles is certainly worth it: at the World Beer Awards 2018, the KEREL range won a prize in the 'World's Best Range Design' category. A guided tour in Dutch / French / English with tasting lasts about an hour and a half and is organized for groups of up to 12 people on fixed Saturdays. If you are more than 12, you can also take a tour at a different time. In that case, send an e-mail to experiences@vbdck.be to book the tour. Prices can be found on the website https://www.vbdck.be/ . Wheelchair-friendly tours are also available.
